Manga UK updates Q4 Releases shedule

Manga Entertainment has announced their new licenses for the fourth quarter of 2018.

Paprika - September 24th

Late Producer Satoshi Kon's Paprika will be coming to DVD and Blu-ray on September 24th. A beautiful and surreal tale of dreams and intrigue, with a score by Susumu Hirasawa (Berserk). 

Synopsis:

Prepare to enter the realm of fantasy and imagination — where reality and dreams collide in a kaleidoscopic mindscape of sheer visual genius. The magical tale centers on a revolutionary machine that allows scientists to enter and record a subject’s dream. After being stolen, a fearless detective and brilliant therapist join forces to recover the device — before it falls into the hands of a “dream terrorist” in this gripping anime thriller from acclaimed director Satoshi Kon.

5 Centimetres per Second - 29th of October

Synopsis

Beginning with the lyrical image of cherry blossoms falling at five centimeters a second Makoto Shinkai paints a breathtakingly vivid tableau of young love, desire, loss and hope.

Told in three breathtaking chapters we follow the young dreamer Takaki through his life as cruel winters cold technology silence and finally adult obligations and responsibility converge to crush the delicate petals of true love.

Tokyo Godfathers - October 15th

Arriving on DVD and, for the first time ever, Blu-ray. 

Synopsis:

It’s Christmas Eve and three homeless friends have experienced a miracle: while rummaging in a dump for a Christmas present, they discover a newborn baby. Despite having nothing, the three take the baby in and name her Kiyoko, meaning Pure One. They embark in search of Kiyoko’s mother, based on the little they know about her from her meagre belongings. 

Kind transwoman Hana, runaway teenager Miyuki, and belligerent Gin make an unlikely trio as they care for the baby and try to find where she belongs. By finally looking toward the future, they are also able to confront their pasts, coming just a little bit closer to finding their own place in the world.
