The days leading up to Halloween on Mars have given rise to a terrorist
attack of huge proportions. An unknown terrorist has blown up a tanker
with a biochemical agent on a busy highway killing many and injuring
thousands within a 2 mile radius. With 300 million woolongs to catch
the terrorist, the broke (as usual) crew of the Bebop go after the
terrorist. But this could be more than they can handle.
One major plus that has to be mentioned straight off is that even
if you've never seen Cowboy Bebop, you'll still know what's going
on. I've only got round to watching half the series, but like many
of the episodes, the film is self-contained, so knowing the ins and
outs of the series is not essential. This has to be one of the films
major pluses and helps it appeal to a larger audience rather than
just its hardcore following.
Another major plus has to be the music. Whilst the series looked fantastic,
this film raises the bar another notch, and is a total knockout visually.
However, the music to the film is just unbelievably fitting.
The plot is as top-notch as you'd expect from a film born of such
a great series. Full of action and adventure, with a mix of heartfelt
questions and action sequences. The mid section can go on for a bit,
but the great Ed lightens the mood during the more serious moments.
The introduction of Vincent is a welcome - its hard to know what to
make of him, only that he's a guy you don't mess with. The usual gang
develop slightly more in character terms, with Spike gaining the most
screentime in this regard.

The Cowboy Bebop Movie has to be watched by the fans of the series
and anyone with an interest in anime. While it can prove to be a bit
slow in small sections, you won't be disappointed by it as a whole.
8/10 - A great add-on to an already great series.
