BubbleGum
Crash was created after the premature death of Crisis, and continued
the storyline for another three tapes. It suffered repeat animation,
inferior design, animation and plotting, but still passes as entertaining.
The complex world of Crisis was stripped down - there's hardly any
mention of Genom or Quincy, which is incredible considering who the
villain turns out to be!

The continuity problems were also a pain in the butt, but dwarfed
by the attitudes of the characters themselves - for Priss to say that
the Knight Sabers were "a bit of a laugh" almost leads you
to believe the writers never saw the original series!
There are some nice touches in the series though - new add-ons for
the hardsuits and beefier weapons add spice to the action scenes,
but the boomers look too basic (but easier to animate ne?) and you
end up wishing for the hard-edged designs of the original. And not
that it's relevant, but whoever designed the girls' civvie outfits
needs a damn good slapping.
However, this is taking a seriously negative spin, which is a bit
harsh. Granted it's not a patch on the original, but at the same time
it's about average when compared to everything else. Reasonable dubbing
(with the four female leads having recognisably individual voices)
and the original music make for a less grating production than could
have been offered, and it's a credit to Manga that the faults lie
with the original, and not their work. (Well the sleeves are terrible,
but that's just an artistic opinion...)
6/10 - Falls short in the shadow of its predecessor...
