The GenoCyber is the ultimate weapon. Using the dormant parts of the mind to power itself, it has the power to control people's thoughts and feelings for it's own use and also the power to destroy the universe.

I'll start by saying that I've seen better anime, but I've also seen a hell of a lot worse.

Genocyber is part of Manga's Cyberpunk Collection, so expect extreme amounts of gore, (the scene with little kids being blown apart by a machinegun comes to mind) and also not being too shy about it either. The story is actually centered around a little physic girl who, when extreme annoyed, turns into the GenoCyber and goes a killing.

The animation isn't too bad, but it could take a leaf out of Ghost In The Shell's book on it.  While the dubbing isn't as good, as our little physic girl seems really calm when chaos takes over and the woman that takes in our little friend seems to be on a serious caffeeine trip. The Genocyber "Electrifying blend of computer-generated animation," isn't as that much better, looking like something my SNES could do on Mario.

Through its faults, GenoCyber is watchable at least once, but it's not at the same level as Akira or Perfect Blue.

7/10 Nice. Classic. Good.

 More Monsters Sir?

GuyverA very similar premise, similar production values and some ace designs, Manga Entertainment's Guyver series was the first anime "video comic" - take a look and see what you think...
