She may be cute. She may be young. She may seem innocent and naive, but don't be fooled. She's a cold blooded killer, and if your on the wrong side of the law, you may be her next target.

Okay so thats want it's says at the back of the dvd , but is it all it's cracked up to be? Well yes and no. Its has  a blood filled opening scene with a man kicking and jumping on a old women in thehead, swiftly followed by the mans brains sprayed on the floor by brutal killer Sawa.

With no real Reason why this crime has happened the plot leaves you feeling a little lost as the story develops. The plot is explained at a very slow pace, and it's full of holes. This seems more like a TV series than a one off ova due to holes in the plot and the poor cell drawing.

Due to its 3 page layout in Manga max this seemed like a decent title - its not. With scenes so violent the US version was cut to ribbons, this is a 45 minute piece of bog-standard anime.

So to cut a long story short Kite could have been a great story but was unfortunately ruined by the hack job performed by Mediablasters in order to sell it in the US as an ultra violent blood-filled video. Subtle and not so subtle elements that helped show the characters motivations and move the plot along were left behind on the cutting room floor. Don't buy this DVD if you prefer your anime uncut.

Still, the cut bits are really only missing is some hentai, and really, who wants to see a 50 year old man making love to a 16 year old girl? (I can think of a certain anime newsgroup that might tell you - Ross ^_^)
