| If you liked Nuku Nuku, youll like this! Whereas Nuku was the story of a manic android voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, Saber Marionette is the story of a manic android voiced by Megumi Hayashibara, so its a nice change... The plot is as follows: A colony ship crashes on a an uninhabited planet. The only survivors are six men. Through cloning they populate the entire planet - only one problem, all the clones are male! So marionettes are created, female androids with no emotions or freewill. 300 years after the crash, Otaru Mamiya discovers a marionette in a sealed chamber. On waking, she introduces herself as Lime, and proves she's no ordinary marionette by exhibiting emotions, and throwing large buildings about.
Megumi Hayashibara does an excellent job as the voice of Lime, whose
appearance is as restrained as her emotions. In the third episode we
met another marionette - Cherry, and in episode 5 (Which I haven't got
- yet!) introduces a third called Bloodberry.Limes adventures are manic, fast paced and light hearted, although there is a darker sub plot in the background, involving megalomaniacs and SM marionettes. The tape was good value for money - £20 for four episodes is good value, considering how good the series is. 9/10 Back to Menu |
