Well here is Cardcaptor
Sakura in print from Mixx and this format, unlike the dub of the anime,
has a translation that keeps all the original names and the
original title. (Unlike Mixx's translation of Sailor Moon.)
The artwork is lovely with CLAMP's typical shoujo style. I wish I
could post some images but CLAMP has stated that it only wants it
to be posted on their official site. (As for Anime pics I think they
don't mind).
For those who don't know the story of Cardcaptor Sakura it centres
around the adventures of Sakura Kinomoto, a 10 year old girl who discovers
a book that is designed to hold the Clow cards, a set of cards which
are confined forms of magical spirits, some of which are powerful,
violent, mischievous or in some cases gentle and friendly. However
when she opens it and Kerberus the creature of the seal appears, they
discover that it is empty.
Kerberus (who is immediately nicknamed Kero or Kero-chan by Sakura)
gives her a staff with which she can return the cards to their card
form and also call back their spirit form or use the cards powers
once she has recaptured them and written her name on them.
With the help of her best friend Tomoyo who records her adventures
on video tape, provides gadgets from her mothers company and designs/
makes Sakura her (often outlandish come cool, come kawaii) many battle
costumes which Sakura reluctantly wears just to keep Tomoyo happy.
This is a very cute story and I would suggest anyone who has seen
the (Cardcaptors) original or dub to pick this up!
(10/10) – funny, sad, risqué, what a great mix!
