Alita has long been one of my favourite anime characters - evertything
about her just screams "cool", from the leather catsuit and long coat
to the world she lives in and the story that unfolds around her, which
is both poignent and harsh.
This figure depicts one of Alita's earliest incarnations, featuring
as it does the berserker body and the outfit she wore over it - this
has always been my enduring image of the character, and I'm happy
to say that the kit does an excellent job of portraying her - the
detailing is very accurate, and the proportions look spot on, as you
can hopefully see from the photos I've thrown on the page.
I'd be lying if I said the build-work was my own, and since I suck
at models I had Draven Models
build it for me, and the final job is excellent - the colours are
just as I specified and the joins are seamless - if you're as hopeless
as I am but love anime figures, give them a go.
There are some delicate looking parts for this kit, but the figure
seems simple enough to assemble - there are no overly small parts
and the majority of areas that require painting are large and low
on detail (such as her catsuit, overcoat and boots).
In terms of how it displays, it looks absoloutely stunning - I love
it to bits and for Alita fans, it's a must. I caught mine at MVM...
