I have wanted an accurate kit of the mechs from Patlabor from the first time I saw the series and three movies. It has taken a while, but Bandai has finally delivered with this, the first of the Master Grade kits outside the Gundam Universe. The results of course are incredible with all the bells and whistles expected from a MG kit. Detailed cockpit with lifting chest armor to see the detail, extra weapons set of baton, long baton and revolver (the revolver actually is stored in the right leg just like in the series, and can be reached with an ingenious mechanism that raises the gun when the armour is opened, and the arm of the labor extends down to grab it, just like the real thing!).

The kit fits together well, needing cement, and screws, to hold it together. I love building these kits, as you build the skeleton first, then add the armour later, so you get an idea of how the Ingram ticks, plus they just look damn cool. The cloth covering around the joints of the mech that is present in the series, is provided by fine rubber tubes, that are moulded and fit over the screws etc, to hide these ‘fake’ bits from the eye of the beholder.

Another bonus of these kits is that it is in 1/35 military scale so that building dioramas and adding details is much easier.
