Here's a rarity - a 1/6 scale Mylene Jenius TECT model kit - only 300 were
ever made and were sold at the Macross Festival to celebrate the 20
year anniversary of the original series. Needless to say I'm too cack-handed
at modelling to build it, so this is another Draven
effort ^.^
Very occasionally this will pop up on Ebay for between $100 and $200,
so keep an eye out!
The kit is a fair size, and is made of very high quality resin. Parts
are detailed and sturdy, and the likeness is very good - Mylene's
hair is particuarly well done.
Unlike the Alita kit reviewed earlier, Mylene
is pretty fragile, so be very careful with both the Guitar and her
fingers particuarly - they broke off in transit to me, but thankfully
I was able to dig them out and glue them back on (tricky!) This really
is a kit for people who know what they're doing, not least because
of the rarity of the figure itself.
The figure had some difficulty standing due to the way she's leaning,
so the problem was solved with a custom base (bought from a trophy
shop apparantly). The Gubaba at Mylene's feet in the picture on the
right was sculpted as an extra so don't think you've been diddled
if you don't find one :)
Having trawled the net looking for a figure of Mylene for about 6
months, I'm very happy that I've found it, and the finished results
are everything I could have wished for - if you're a Macross 7 fan,
this is a must have item!
