First up - I'm a Transformers fan. Always have been, always will be. So accept my bias here and take the review for what it is - the rantings of a very happy man.

So what's lifted me from my usual somber mood? Well, my childhood hero has been released in a detailed and cartoon accurate PVC form, and, ladies and gentlemen, he's the mutts nuts.

Standing at 4.5", he's wonderfully realised - exactly as he appeared in the cartoon series, with fully 12 points of articulation and a variety of extra hands and guns so that you can recreate those classic TV moments...

There are 2 versions of this figure, TV and Metallic. I plumped for metallic, which is the version that comes with Megatron in gun form (very tasty, but I prefer my Prime holding his classic piece). The TV version comes with his laser axe and the matrix. Both figures are identical in terms of the basic figure, but I prefer the deeper and more realistic metallic version myself.

The figure can vary, and mostly comes as a two pack (both Metal and TV versions) and can range from $30 - $45. I picked up my single Prime for $23.50 (with free shipping at the time), and you can find more at Dave's World, which is a great website for Transformers fans.

Okay, its essentially a larger version of the pewter figures, but its a great figure, and anyone who remembers the character will adore this depiction, which is without doubt the best physical depiction of the character ever. A gem, and with more to come (Megatron is next), the G1 comic on its way back thanks to Dreamwave and a whole bunch of original toy re-releases, its never been a better time to buy bots...

10/10 - like you had to ask?
