Article: Guide to Disgaea

Showing your love

Showing your love

With Disgaea invading so many different media, and with such cute designs, it's only right that the merchandising bandwagon has produced a plethora of figures, books and branded goods. While I don't profess to have anything like a complete collection, Disgaea has managed to infiltrate my home quite impressively.

Plush Prinnies
No home would be complete without at least one evil minion, and they don't come any more evil (or more adorable) than Laharl Prinny

Of course, you can pick up standard Prinnies, Curtis Prinny (green), Hero Prinny (red scarf) and others. If you're a lover of all things Prinny, you're pretty much guaranteed to find one to your taste!

Figures
There aren't many deluxe character figures from Disgaea (only about 6 that I know of) but arguably the best of the group is the Max Factory Etna figure complete with very shiny outfit and beautifully two-toned tail. You can see my full review here.

Gashapon Figures
With so many different character types available in the game, gashapon (prize machine) figures were the most economical way to bring the characters to life as models. Several series have been released, the latest depicting the cast of Disgaea 4 - if you order direct from NISA you can get a deluxe edition that includes a Fuka figure and a complete set of gashapon touys for $119 + shipping. No one said being a Disgaea fanatic was going to be cheap!

The smallest figures I own are Etna (plus Prinny) and the hidden figure Priere, who actually originiates from another game called La Pucelle: Tactics, but who frequents every Disgaea game as a bonus character.

So there you have it - in short, there's a myriad of ways to enjoy teh world of Disgaea, be it the original tactical games, manga, anime, toys, books or even plushes. Disgaea: A hardcore game done good.
