Getting to know the events!

What events can guests partake in this year?

There will be a mixture of activities for everyone to get involved in and enjoy during the weekend, for starters you can meet, chat to and have something signed by one our special guests (Jason Paige, J Michael Tatum and Brandon McInnis), as well as having a professional photo with each of them (these can be pre-booked on our website) - places are limited and are currently selling fast so make sure you have yours.

On the other hand, if being on stage is more your thing, there will be a variety of activates you can get involved in over the weekend. This includes contests such as the Cosplay and Talent contests. You also have the opportunity to dress up for our Alternate Fashions catwalk or take part in our Cosplay parade.

Also we have our workshops, where you are going to be able to create some unique items that you can bring home with you, like at the Candle and Bath-bomb Workshop by Juju Treats. We also have our learn to draw work shop making a return by Blue Fayt A&D where they will be giving our attendees tips and tricks on how to improve their skills. New for this year is the Paint a Mini Figure Workshop where you can decorate your own Lego Mini Figure.

There is plenty for children to take part in too, such as free face painting, princess sing-a-long on stage, Super heroes Academy, Jedi training, LEGO Building Area, Magic show and more.

In addition to this, we have other more social activities to be involved in such as card and role-play gaming with Patriot Games and Video Gaming tournaments.

There are so many activities; it is hard to really list them all. So check out our website for the most up to date list http://www.yorkshirecosplayconvention.co.uk

Do you have any competitions for people to enter?

We will be holding our usual Cosplay contests that consist of ‘Hand-Made’ and ‘Store-Bought’ categories. Contestants showcase their hard work on stage and the winner is presented with a certificate and awesome prize/s. Each year gets harder and harder as the entries get better and better each year which is amazing. We also have a kid’s version of this on both days.

Also we run a ‘Cosplayers Got Talent,’ contest where people can showcase their various talents such as singing, dancing, comedy and other abilities on stage.

All other contest information and sign up forms can be found on our website: www.yccevents.co.uk

We couldn’t do it without the kind help and support of our sponsors at MVM Entertainment, Cineworld, Third Window Films and Genki Gear that have been with us since day one.

Which charities are you supporting this year?

We support a variety of charities, two in particular we will be supporting this year is Hallam FM’s Cash for Kids and Ashgate Hospice. Both are very worthy causes and help both the young and old. We will be running activities over the weekend to help raise for these worthy causes. Feel free to get in touch if you are interested in donating or being involved.

What's the one event everyone should be there for over the weekend?

How do you choose? There is so much going on over the weekend!

If you are a Pokemon fan you will need to see Jason Paige live as it’s going to be awesome to see him perform for the first time in the United Kingdom and it’s gonna be something no one will forget.

On the other hand, if you’re a J . Michael Tatum fan then you will want a front row seat at his panel. It’s going be hilariously awesome!

It all depends on what your interests really as there is something for everyone and everyone will go away with a different highlight of the weekend.
