It's something about what people did in the past, it's asking the children to look and see the actions of the past and there is something about rebuilding houses as well.
The whole thing is very odd though... please is written numerous times but in Katakana which isn't normal... theres also a Katakana 'wo' in there and I'm sure it's being used in the particle sense rather than in a name or something foreign which is also pretty weird. My Japanese is not particularly great though but eh I'm getting there slowly..

From looking at it I'd guess that its something related to the war given the apparent age of the book, the fact that it appears to be in a museum and the design of the planes in the art. The file name of the image suggests that its something to do with Sensoji in Asakusa though...
