Any music I've recorded that I want to share is now on Soundcloud. More to be added as I get around to recording them. Constructive criticism and other feedback is welcome, since I've never tried songwriting before.
Thanks! |

You are more noise than signal : very 'stoner rock' ; I liked it.

Agreed, stoner is definitely how I would describe it. I'm not a fan of "Stoner", and thus can't really give you much feedback on that. However Rainshower Interlude was very relaxing and generally a really nice tune. Would love to see more stuff like that

Reminds me of robert fripp sorta, with his soundscapes. It's pretty relaxing.
How have you recorded the songs? Anyone else on soundcloud? I'm on there too.. |

Thanks for the kinds words! Pretty much every guitar and bass track is done in one take - via a Sansamp DI box for bass or a mic'd up guitar amp - through a USB preamp mixer straight into Cubase, with no digital processing apart from adjusting volume levels during mixing. I don't own a drum kit or sequencer, so the drum loops were done in Cubase as well.
I lean towards the ambient instrumental stuff (been listening to a lot of Caspian, MONO and Yuki Kajiura lately) but the 'stoner' track was a bit of fun really. I wanted to do something industrial and cyberpunk, so lay down this distorted drum track and used a 'bit crusher' feature to turn the bass all glitchy and digital. More to come when I get around to it. |

Wow, some nice stuff on there. I really like it. What other stuff are you listening to? You should check out Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed! You Black Emperor!, A Silver Mt. Zion... But you probably are into those already anyway
