Ha, I can understand that. Try something like the cut version of Kira Kira (it's available on Windows & iPhone, not sure about Android etc.), that's probably a good starting point.

This is probably a good point to say that not all visual novels are created equal, and even within the realms of eroge there are distinct strands of game from those created purely for the sake of depicting sex through to more thoughtful, story-driven works where the sex is practically secondary (of which ef is a great example, incidentally).

Kira Kira isn't on Android (at least not in english).

I really like Visual Novels, as anyone who follows me on Twitter can probably attest, but apart from Ef I can't say that any of these really interest me. Nukige just doesn't interest me, but sadly this seems to be what VN's are synonymous with, especially in the West. It's a bit of a catch-22. VN's are best known for H-content, so the people who buy are looking for H-content leading companies to release more VN's with H-content, ignoring those with plot, making VN's more known for H-content.
