Oh my, that's a lot to digest...I'll need to get my thinking cap on.

Thanks

Thank goodness for that image resize code

Nice pics though - I should do more nature shots. I'll upload some of my early snaps with the NEX when I get some time.

Thanks for that too Ross I was going to go away and figure out the width setting (which i always forget) and the preview seemed to resize it so i left it

Yeah so the GF3 was a camera i was looking at getting due to being able to easily adapt my old lenses. However using the LCD viewfinder put me off as i was not confident id be able to focus them as quickly as on a full SLR.

Speed comes with practice, I can shoot with the manual vivitar lens pretty quickly when i have to, I also find that on my autofocus lenses, turning off the vibration reduction buys alot of sharpness.

Glad I found this topic.

Been checking out the photo's in the albums linked in here, lots of great work, stunning even.

My dad used to be a bird watcher and take photos to catalog what he's seen, we have dozens of bird photo albums, so birds and wildlife I have a particular linking for.

To nerd things up a bit, I started to dabble in astrophotography a couple of years ago, starting off with astronomy just to get used to using telescopes and stuff, the urge to show others what I could see became too great. While I'm still very much an amateur on both accounts, I'm really happy with what I achieved with very little effort.

Check out my work here - http://s3.beta.photobucket.com/user/...rary/Astronomy

Unfortunately, the UK weather and working early morning means I don't get out very often at all.

Nice. A photography thread.

I've always loved taking photos and a few years ago I decided to splash out on a decent camera (an Nex 5 which I bought mainly for my trip to Japan) and have been experimenting with various things ever since. Feel free to checkout my flickr photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/kotatsuneko808/

Currently I'm saving up for/keeping an eye out for a good wide angle lens to start messing around with.

Woot photography

My flickr account is here though I only post arty shots there. I used to use Webshots for general and holiday shots as their limit was on number of shots (which grew over time) and not data quantity. As they are no more and I do not like what they morphed in to I now use Photobucket - only some holiday stuff there so not of artistic interest.

BTW if you have a strong wallet or a strong will then it's worth checking out The Talk Photography Forumks - I try to avoid going there too often as the second hand section is too tempting and has resulted in various purchases.

Camera wise I use a Nikon D300. I've been waiting for the D400 to appear but may instead treat myself to a D800 for the low light capabilities in time (and in a sale) - would have to replace my walk about lens though (a Tamron 18-50 F2,8 ).

As a few already know as well as anime, I am an avid transport photographer. So here is my link

There are some other stuff as well as buses/trains/trams, but it is mainly that,
