Nintendo will pretty much totally drop the DS if they haven't already but its likely that third party devs will still support it for a while just as the PSP is still getting new games at the mo.

There's Pokemon Black/White 2 in October, and that's about it as far as I see. Mario already jumped shipped long ago and the new Professor Layton's out on 3DS this year too.

I bought a Vita when Amazon had them on offer recently.
I like the hardware, but i only have 3 boxed games so far and that includes Disgaea3 which i could have got on the PS3 if i bought one of those instead (it's actually the only current console i don't have now, and given how many nice looking rpgs there are on it i might end up with one when that rumored new version appears). I imagine i'll end up playing some PSP games on it next. (I already have a PSP, but it's the original version with the unfortunately smeary screen). I got the Zelda edition 3DS last year and i actually only have 3 games for that (including tales of the abyss, which i already had on the ps2), and have mostly been playing through my stack of unfinished DS games recently. I prefer the Vita out of the two, but both of them need more work |

Personally I would just sit tight and wait. Sony aren't gonna let the console die off that quickly. With games like PSO2 coming out for it fairly soonish, I see no reason to not get one or keep one if you already have it. Console has alot of potential. At the very least get one for the eventual custom firmware and pray for a dreamcast emulator
Lets not forget that once capcom get there finger out we'll start seeing alot of awesomesauce on this too. Something along the lines of super street fighter 4.5 and a bit hyper arcade gold edition..................... monster hunter, resident evil, DMC. Lots of games that could well end up on the vita within a year. Theres ragnarok oddysey too but uhh......... it blows. Imported it, played it maybe three times |

My primary concern over Vita is the lack of announcements for the console. I don't expect it to have massive support from the get-go, but when games like EX Troopers from Capcom have PS3 and 3DS versions, it really worries me to see Vita getting left out, especially when you consider the overwhelming gulf between PS3 and 3DS in terms of pure power.
I have a 3DS, and though I still haven't forgiven Nintendo for shafting me on the price, the games starting to come through are pretty respectable. Rhythm Thief, Kid Icarus (control issues aside) Mario and Zelda have all been excellent games, and with even niche titles like Final Fantsay Theatrythm getting a UK release, I'm quite impressed. The Vita remains my favourite though - it's a stunning piece of technology, much like the PSP and Go before it. Gravity Rush is a jaw-dropping and original game that should have been released at launch, and the Gundam SEED game is wonderful. Sadly we have only Assassin's Creed III, Persona 4 and (possibly) Project Diva F to get excited about, and at this stage of the game that just isn't good enough. If Sony don't get the talented devs on board, this is going to be a disaster. SF x Tekken is my next "must buy" but given how long that's been out on console, I don't see it being a system seller. The other worrying Vita trend is that all the big titles (CoD, Uncharted, Resistance) are being developed by the B-Team studios. It gives off a bad message if the developers won't put their best people on the job and shows a disturbing (perhaps justified) lack of faith in the hardware. Not overly surprising when you consider the mess Sony made of the PSP. Despite all of this, I still wouldn't get rid of mine. I have a great library of PSP games on it already, eventually the Japanese developers WILL catch up and the system will find its market. Whenever people slam the PSP, I gently remind them that it had some of the best games of the last generation if you cared to look - Project Diva, FFVII Crisis Core, Macross Frontier, Gundam Vs, God Eater, Parasyte Eve, Dissidia, Pangya, God of War, Legend of Heroes, Peace Walker, Ace Combat, Motorstorm Arctic Edge, Hot Shots Tennis, Rock Band, Soul Calibur, Phatasy Star, Star Ocean, Disgaea, Persona 3, DJ Max... I have over 80 games for my PSP. None of the other consoles I have come anywhere close. If Vita has even half the games the PSP had, it'll be worth the investment imo. For now though, 3DS will have more for you. Maybe save Vita for a time when it has more support and costs less.

'Sony announced the PS Vita has sold 2.2 million units worldwide as of Jun 30, which means approximately 250k units sold per month since it sold 1.2 million units back in Feb 2012. Sony said they will address the slow sales by putting more efforts to attract younger audience.'
....Oh dear. |

Firstly look what arrived today.
With just a plastic delivery bag and no protective packing.>:[ ![]() [I ran checks, and everythings fine - thank god] Also, i did some inquiries and out of the places i checked the best offer i got was from gamestation [Which for the record is now the ONLY game store in stoke on trent since game went RIP] with £120 cash for a 3G psvita [this was before i realised i had a 3g/wifi version] worst offer? one cash exchange store had bought one before me for £80 [whereupon the cheeky scrote put it up for sale for about £220 odd] ...yeah, guess who i wont be going back to? As for the fate of this VITA?..........im still on the wall. I'll rent some games from blockbuster, give it a spin and make a decision then. ...Unless someone wants to make the relevant sacrifices to summon Matt kamen to see what he says on the matter.
