I hate to burst the bubble, but wasn't this supposed to be really bad? All the reviews I saw were overwhelmingly negative.

Yeah, I've had to watch it twice now, and it certainly doesn't get any better the second time around. Then again, it isn't really trying to be anything other than a dumb horror movie, so if you like that kind of thing it's a case of mission accomplished.

It's not quite as good as the original manga, but there are a few changes to the story that some people might find refreshing. It's pure B-movie material anyway, so was always going to be one of those "so bad it's good" titles.

It was fun to watch in a "this is so very dumb" kind of way, but it ain't something I would buy. Though, you all seem to like it (or sarcasm is very hard to do on the internet)
