I just finished Rum Punch by Elmore Leonard, which was turned into the film Jackie Brown. Much like the film, it's a fairly typical quadruple cross sort of book that while engaging enough hardly inspired me to go out and read more of his stuff.

I'm now reading News from Berlin by Otto de Katt, which is far more promising after 70 pages or so.

Starship Troopers by Robert A. Heinlein. Verhoeven criminally ill-treated the book. It's about the forming of a Marine/Trooper.
