Apparantly for today only you can download a trial of Paint Shop Pro X2.
Personally I still use version 9 (the last Jasc version and still the best damn image editor for web graphics in my opinion) as it does what I want and I found PSPX to be a bloody nightmare. I'm going to trial this one - in case anyone here wants a go, check out www.corel.com

Ooh, I am tempted, although I haven't updated Paint Shop Pro out of necessity for a long time, merely because I just like having the latest version.
I'm running Paint Shop Pro XI without any troubles, and I can't really think of any missing features I need. Let me know how it shapes up! |

Still running PSP8 on this PC, and I also have the GIMP on here and my laptop. No plans to update PSP, as it works fine as it is.

Why do people use Photoshop when Gimp is free and all you need for home use? Unless you work with it professionally (Such as a print workshop) it's needless.

I don't know if it's still the case, but I was always under the impression back in the day that GIMP on Windows was useless.

Nope, Gimp is pretty cool. Apparently, as I read in artciles it's all the home user needs.

I have PaintShopPro8 and PhotoShop7
....however most of the time I just use an old copy of the PaintShopPro 5. It does exactly what I want.

The Gimp's cool, but not always intuitive (not that this isn't a problem that affects other image editors), e.g. reducing the number of colours an image uses, especially if you're used to the Photoshop way of doing things (although there is a Gimp interface available that mimics PS...couldn't comment on how useful it is, though).

I use PSP professionally, alongside Adobe InDesign. To be honest what I've seen of PSPX2 so far, it isn't too bad. All the tools I like are there (they were "moved" in X) and apart from the fact that the browser can't float around the screen, it seems ok.
Dunno why it insists on having a dark grey background though - you could change that on PSP9...
