Default Strike Witches Japanese Blu-Ray box set

So, yes, I've been at it again, picking up Japanese Blu-Ray releases with English subtitles. This time around the object of my attention was the box set release of my guilty pleasure favourite Strike Witches, which recently enjoyed a limited edition Blu-Ray release. It turned up safely today, and here it is...

First up, here's the front of the outer sleeve:

And from the back:

That sleeve actually doubles as a couple of postcards - post bits of your expensive purchase to your friends! Imagine their red faces when a postman hands them a picture of girls wearing no trousers!

Inside that is a more typical cardboard sleeve, containing three Blu-Rays and a 200-odd page art book:

Blu-Rays 1 and 2 contain the series proper in High Definition glory, while disc three contains a live event featuring the show's cast of voice actresses:

Open up the Blu-Ray cases, and this is what you get:

Blu-Ray three also comes with a booklet of its own with comments from the VAs, autographs and so on:

Finally, the art book contains character designs, storyboards and so on - all of the usual fare for this kind of thing:

Now, all I have to do is find time to watch it!

And for anyone curious - the opening to the disc menu:

The main menu itself:

Yay, subtitles!

I have to say, the video quality of the episodes themselves isn't all that hot - it's incredibly noisy from what I've seen so far - looks like I'll be ramping up the NR on this one.

Words cannot describe the levels of want.
How much did this set you back? May have to protect my ears.

Personally, I was hoping this set would prank the fans by having all the box art include trousers on the characters. Shame.

Also, £230? Gott im himmel.

I would have been tempted if it included both series.

Why are the Japanese consumers willing to buy overpriced things? I need my scantly dressed lolis cheap!
