New Releases (21/05/2012)

With all eyes turning towards the MCM London Expo at the weekend, what goodies are being released today and thus available to buy at the big event?

In terms of anime, we have a couple of major releases from Manga Entertainment, starting with the second volume of Fairy Tail on DVD - watch out for a review later this week!  Also available from today is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex -  Solid State Society, which is re-released as a Blu-Ray and DVD DoublePlay set.  Check out our thoughts on this OVA movie over here, and don't forget that you can also enter our competition to win a copy of this release!

It's also an incredibly busy week for new manga releases this time around, with Viz Media keeping shounen fans busy with the release of new volumes of Naruto, One Piece and Tegami Bachi.  Elsewhere, we have the FLCL Omnibus from Dark Horse Comics, and the first Genshiken Omnibus volume from Kodansha Comics to tempt new readers, with other releases made up by the latest volumes of Bamboo Blade, Blood Blockade Battlefront, Nabari no Ou, Omamori Himari, Pandora Hearts and The Wallflower.  Finally, Yen Press bring us the first volume of Until Death Do Us Part this week to round things off.

Looking forward to next week, it's a massive one in terms of anime releases, with Kaze UK and Manga Entertainment joining forces to release the third Bleach movie, Fade to Black, on both DVD and Blu-Ray (check out our review right here, incidentally), as well as the first two films (Memories of Nobody and The Diamond Dust Rebellion) on Blu-Ray.  Also hitting the UK next Monday are the first part of Clannad, and the complete first series collection of Baka and Test: Summon the Beasts.  Throw in some high profile manga releases, including the first volume of Puella Magi Madoka Magica from Yen Press, and you have yourself a busy (and potentially expensive) week!
