It's been hard work trying to keep quiet about it over the past few weeks, but at last it's now been officially confirmed that Anime Limited have picked up some further summer season shows to add to their burgeoning line-up for the season.
Foremost amongst these additons is Gangsta, Manglobe's adaptation of a popular manga. The series follows Nick and Worick, two "handymen" who will take on the kind of dirty jobs that nobody else will handle in the seedy city of Ergastulum they call home. However, when the pair become embroiled in the city's underworld politics and are press-ganged into taking on a new group which is threatening the Mafia's status quo, this could prove to be their most dangerous job yet.
The series will be simulcast on Viewster, and the series has also been acquired for a future home video release by the distributor - you can find more details on the All The Anime Blog.
Also acquired by the company is Chaos Dragon, a multimedia franchise which features input from Gen Urobuchi as just one of five creators (also including Durarara creator Ryogho Narita) that came up with this concept spun out from their love of tabletop RPGs. The result is this original anime series from Silver Link, which delves into a battle for supremacy between two huge nations in the year 3015, and the involvement of a small, independent island which sits between them.
Again, both streaming and home video rights have been acquired for the series - read the full low-down on the distributor's blog, and watch out for the show on Viewster in due course.
Finally, on a slightly different note we should mention that Viewster will also be streaming the latest episodes of Fairy Tail to the UK and Ireland in due course, to join other streaming services Crunchyroll and Animax UK in offering the series.
