Anime events and screenings at Brighton Japan Festival 2012

From June 22nd to July 1st, Brighton's Japan Festival 2012 will be serving up plenty of Japanese-centric events - a line-up which would, of course, not be complete without a healthy serving of anime in its midst.

To that end, you'll find a number of events geared towards anime fans over the course of the festival, including the Asahi open-air anime festival on June 30th and July 1st, and retro gaming nights on the 29th and 30th of June.

Also taking place during the festival are a couple of notable anime screenings, with Studio Ghilbi's latest film From Up On Poppy Hill getting an airing on June 23rd at the Duke of Yorks Picturehouse while Studio 4°C animated anthology Genius Party Beyond is screened at the same location on June 30th.  On top of this, Third Window Films brings Sion Sono's Himizu to the big screen on June 27th.
