We heard all sorts of seemingly correct rumours circulating yesterday, and it's now been confirmed as true - Japanese anime production studio Manglobe have today filed for bankruptcy.
The studio, which has assisted on numerous production while also headlining series such as The World God Only Knows, Samurai Flamenco and (most recently) Gangsta, has been reported to be insolvent for some time, but is now about to file for bankruptcy with reported debts of over 350 million Yen (or almost £2 million).
Next month is slated to see the release of the studio's entry in the Project Itoh anime project, Genocidal Organ - although it's been reported that work was continuing at the studio until the bankruptcy filing, it's unconfirmed whether this project was completed and whether it will be shifted to another studio for any work required to complete it prior to its scheduled November 13th 2015 release.
