Wednesday saw US distributor Aniplex of America take to the airwaves with a streaming event which brought with it a number of announcements, some of which will doubtless at least stir some interest amongst UK anime fans.
Most notable amongst these announcements is that the second season of Durarara - the adaptation of Ryougo Narita's light novel series - named Durarara!! x2 will be streamed via a number of outlets, including Crunchyroll. There's no news on regional restrictions as of yet, but we'll be keeping a keen eye out for UK availability of this series as we move closer to the winter 2015 season in which it airs.
The other major piece of news from the event is the company's plans to offer theatrical screenings of Gen Urobuchi's new film Expelled From Paradise, which will screen in fifteen locations across the US from December 13th. One can only hope - perhaps in vain - for a UK screening at some point...
Beyond this, the distributor also announced further single volume releases of Nisekoi and Gurren Lagann for North America, the former of which we'd love to see licensed for the UK, but maybe that's just us?
