Written by A. H. on 31 Mar 2016

It's time for another catch-up on the latest spring season simulcast news from Crunchyroll as the new streaming season approaches - we've already seen a number of announcements which you can find in our news feed, but let's see what recent days have brought to the table for the UK:

Kagewani II - A continuation of the first KAGEWANI, the plot centers on mysterious monsters called “UMA” that suddenly appear and start attacking humans. Scientist Sosuke Banba pursues the truth with the keyword “kagewani”, which means “Shadow Crocodile” in Japanese.

The series begins tomorrow, 1st April, at an as-yet unspecified time on this Crunchyroll page.

Joker Game - In autumn of 1937, as the coals of World War II are beginning to smolder, Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki of the Imperial Army secretly establishes a spy training organization called the "D Agency." Those chosen as members of the agency, in opposition to the national trend toward reverence of native-born soldiers in the army, are civilian university graduates who pass the superhuman selection test with flying colors. Under the resourceful Lieutenant Colonel Yuuki, they learn not only how to work with gunpowder, wireless communications, vehicles, and airplanes, but also various skills essential for spies, from pickpocketing to safecracking.

The series begins on Tuesday, 5th April, with episodes airing each week at 6PM UK time to an as-yet unknown Crunchyroll page.

Bungo Stray Dogs - Kicked out of his orphanage and on the verge of starving to death, Nakajima Atsushi meets some strange men. One of them, Dazai Osamu, is a suicidal man attempting to drown himself in broad daylight. The other, bespectacled Kunikida Doppo, nervously stands by flipping through a notepad. Both are members of the "Armed Detective Agency" said to solve incidents that even the military and police won't touch. Atsushi ends up accompanying them on a mission to eliminate a man-eating tiger that's been terrorizing the population...

The series begins on April 6th, and episodes air every Wednesday at 6:35PM UK time.

- Super Lovers - Fooled into coming overseas by news of his mother's imminent death, high school student Kaido Haru encounters a boy who insists that he's his brother. Haru does his best to raise feral and obstinate Ren, but there seems to be a secret behind Ren's birth. On top of that, just when Ren begins to warm up to Haru, tragedy strikes. Five years later, Haru reunites with Ren, all grown up in Tokyo, but…

The series starts on Wednesday April 6th, and episodes air each week at 7:05PM UK time.

- Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096 - Three years have passed since Char's Rebellion. On the surface, it appears that tranquility has returned to a world which has been troubled by conflict ever since the One Year War.

Banagher Links, a boy living at the manufacturing colony Industrial 7, meets a mysterious girl who calls herself Audrey Burne. Audrey has taken independent action to stop the Vist Foundation from handing over Laplace's Box to the Neo Zeon remnants known as the Sleeves, and Banagher decides to help her. But the colony becomes a battlefield as fighting breaks out between the Sleeves and the Earth Federation Forces, who have also come to prevent the handover. As Banagher runs through the battle in search of Audrey, he has a fateful encounter with a white mobile suit, the Unicorn Gundam, which is the key to Laplace's Box. What is Laplace's Box? What secret does the Box contain? The hundred-year curse of the Universal Century is about to be resolved.

The series begins on April 2nd, and episodes air every Saturday at 11:30PM UK time.

- Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV - This is a new anime series consisting of five standalone episodes. BROTHERHOOD delves into the extraordinary friendships between Crown Prince Noctis and his three comrades, setting the stage for the adventure players will set out upon in the action-packed RPG.

This five-part series airs on Thursdays at 6AM - the first episode is available right now from this Crunchyroll page.
