Crunchyroll stream GATE, Phantasy Star Online 2, Galko-chan this winter

Another day brings another trio of Crunchyroll simulcasts for the winter 2016 season - so what's on the docket for today?

GATE season 2 - The message behind this series and its handling of the Japanese military may have courted controversy, but that hasn't adversely affected interest in GATE, and as such it returns for a second run of episodes this winter courtesy of A-1 Pictures, covering the source manga's "Fire Dragon" arc.

The series commences today, 8th January, with episodes airing every Friday at 6:30PM UK time from this Crunchyroll page (where you can also catch season one).

Phantasy Star Online 2: The Animation - It never got the western localisation that some were hoping for, but Phantasy Star Online 2 remains a relatively big deal in its homeland, enough so to grant it an anime adaptation from Telecom Animation Film this winter in advance of its PlayStation 4 port hitting Japan. This particular take on the sci-fi fantasy MMORPG will feature a completely original story set on Earth in the near future.

This series begins tomorrow, Saturday 9th January, with episodes arriving each week at 6AM UK time to this Crunchyroll page.

Please Tell Me! Galko-chan - Its source manga has recently been snapped up for localisation by Seven Seas Entertainment, and now the Please Tell Me! GALKO-chan manga gets an anime adaptation from Feel this winter. Another series of shorts, the show follows the normal lives of three very different high school girls who are nonetheless good friends.

The show also begins today, January 8th, with episodes airing every Friday at 4:30PM UK time from this Crunchyroll page.
