Crunchyroll to simulcast Active Raid, Nurse Witch Komugi R, AOKANA to the UK

Strap yourselves in, because the winter 2016 anime season is about to enter its full swing, which in turn means lots of simulcast announcements coming our way.

Yesterday evening brought another trio of announcements from Crunchyroll, all of which are making their way to the UK thankfully. Here's what they've just added to their line-up for the season:

Active Raid - This original series, produced by Production IMS and boasting Code Geass' Gorou Taniguchi as its chief director, takes in a future world where areas of Tokyo are in a mess, and it's left to a division of exoskeleton wielding security forces to try and bring peace and justice to its chaotic regions.

The series starts on Thursday, 7th January, with episodes airing at 3:30PM UK time from this Crunchyroll page.

Nurse Witch Komugi R - Tatsunoko Productions continue on their mission to revive and reboot old franchises, and next on the list is arguably an unusual one in the form of Nurse Witch Komugi-chan. Its story at least feels relevant for a modern era, as a middle school girl who doubles as an idol finds herself turned into one of a number of magical girls tasked with tackling evil.

The show begins on Saturday, 9th January, with episodes arriving each week at 8:25PM UK time via this Crunchyroll page.

AOKANA: Four Rhythm Across the Blue - Studio Gonzo make an appearance adapting visual novel Four Rhythm Across the Blue for the winter season. The series is set in an alternate Japan where technology has made soaring through the skies both simply and possible for anybody, in turn bringing about a new sport known as Flying Circus. Our protagonist for the series was a former ace in the sport who quit for various reasons, only to find his love potentially rekindled as he's tasked with teaching a new transfer student how to fly.

The series kicks off on Monday, 11th January, with episodes airing every week at 8:35PM UK time from this Crunchyroll page.
