We talked yesterday about Pony Canyon launching a North American label to handle streaming and home video releases of their anime products, and yesterday also saw confirmation of the first fruits of that labour, with two shows from the distributor reaching Crunchyroll for the autumn. Here's more on the two series coming to the UK as a result:
- Denki-gai no Honya-san - Working in Akihabara seems like it would be a little bonkers at times, and that thought seems to be reinforced by this manga adaptation brought to us by Shin-Ei Animation. This wacky slice of life series follows the staff who work in an Akiba doujinshi store (modelled with a knowing wink on the actual Toranoana store), and the goings-on that revolve around them.
The series begins on Thursday October 2nd, with new episodes airing each week at 3:30PM from this Crunchyroll page.
- Yuki Yuna wa Yusha de Aru - Also arriving for the autumn is this unusual little original slice of life series from Studio Gokumi - rather than your average high school setting, this show is set in the year 300 of its imagined "era of gods". Our titular character, Yuuna Yuuki, also belongs to her school's "hero club", where she's tasked with dealing with a mysterious being named Vertex.
The series starts Thursday, October 16th at 7:19PM UK time, with episodes available every Thursday from this Crunchyroll page.
Will you be watching either of these series? Let us know in the comments!
