Cumbria's Brewery Arts Centre runs one week Bunkasai event

For fans of anime, manga or Japanese culture in general in the Cumbria area, you'll probably want to pay some attention to a Bunkasai (aka cultural festival) event being held by the Brewery Arts Centre in Kendal which largely takes place between the 8th and 15th of July.

As well as numerous anime and live-action Japanese cinema screenings (more on those in a second), the event will also feature some very special guests including upcoming manga artist Kayo Nakamura, while the work of Golgo 13 creator Takao Saito will be exhibited over the course of the event complete with a presentation speech on July 12th from the head of said artist's publishing company, Mikio Shibata, to discuss the Japanese manga industry.

Golgo 13 also features in the event's line-up of films, which is as follows:

July 14 - 5:30PM - Spirited Away
July 14 - 8:15PM - Akira
July 15 - 3PM    - Ponyo
July 15 - 5:30PM - Ghost in the Shell
July 15 - 7:45PM - Zatoichi
July 15 - 8:30PM - Ringu

Throw in a number of manga workshops, Japanese food and a little more, and there's no shortage of events to enjoy during the week!
