Evangelion 2.22 listed in Japan

Updated version to have digital mastering and “readjustments”

The Japanese online retailer Geo on the Rakuten website is listing a May 26th DVD release of Evangelion: 2.22 You Can (Not) Advance. According to the retailer, the "2.22" version number represents the release's digital mastering with "readjustments." There has currently been no official announcement regarding an updated release for the second in the film series.

The film series of Evangelion is a remake of Gainax’s Neon Genesis Evangelion series, with the first film sticking close to the original opening episodes of the series. The second film however is reported to have gone in a new direction with a collection of new additions.

Both Evangelion 1.0 and 2.0 will be show at Glasgow’s film festival on Monday 15th February. The enhanced edition of the first film, Evangelion 1.11 will be released by Manga Entertainment on April 25th 2010 on DVD and Blu-Ray.
