JManga unveils new subscription model

Pay as you go, or pay monthly

JManga unveils new subscription model

A couple of weeks ago, we discussed changes to JManga's points-based purchasing system, with the promise of further changes on the way.  Those changes are now in place, giving the site a much-needed overhaul to its subscription model!

For starters, those looking to pay up on a monthly basis for a subscription can still do so, with $8.99 per month netting you 1000 JManga points to spend each month, with $12.75 producing 1500 points and $19.99 getting you 2500 points.

However, there's now a new way to pick up JManga points, thanks to the introduction of a "Pay as You Go" system - with this, no monthly outlay is required, you can simply pay up whenever you need more JManga points.  For users of this model, 1000 points will cost you $10, with 1500 points for $15 and 2500 points for $25.  This system will accept payment via Visa, Mastercard and American Express at present.

Although this doesn't quite reach the utopia of doing away with a points system entirely, it's a very clear improvement for those who don't want to be tied down to a monthly spend on digital manga, and as such this new pay as you go system is a hugely welcome boost for the useability of the site.

For more details, or to sign up to the service, check out the official JManga web site.
