Kill la Kill Part 3 delayed; replacement programme commenced for London Comic Con purchases

Written by A. H. on 27 May 2015

If you were amongst the wave of people who attended last weekend's MCM London Comic Con and raced to pick up Kill la Kill Part 3 complete with its fancy collector's box from Anime Limited's stand, then you may have subsequently noticed that trying to remove the contents from the box for part three itself is.... difficult. Very difficult in fact.

Needless to say, removing a disc and booklet from a cardboard case shouldn't be this difficult, and Anime Limited have responded by delaying the retail release of this volume so that they can recall and replace all stock with a fixed version of the packaging. Kill la Kill Part 3 will now be released via retailers in late June or possibly even late July as a result.

Furthermore, anyone who did purchase a copy from London Comic Con will need to move fast to claim a replacement - here are the instructions direct from the latest All the Anime Newswire:

To everyone who purchased Kill la Kill Part 3 at MCM London Comic Con, May 2015 – we are going to begin a replacement scheme for the reason specified above. To apply for your replacement please email Jeremy on Jeremy@AllTheAnime.com with the subject line “KILL LA KILL PART 3 – MCM LONDON REPLACEMENT” and it must including the following:

  1. your full name
  2. your postal address
  3. a photo of your Kill la Kill Box 3 DVD/Blu-ray
  4. Please tell us in your email if you purchased the DVD or Blu-ray version.
  5. and proof of you having been at MCM London Comic Con in the form of sending us a copy of the confirmation email you will have received when you purchased your tickets online. NOTE: If you purchased your ticket(s) to the event on the day you attended and/or don’t have email confirmation, please include a picture of your ticket/pass/wristband in the photo of your Kill la Kill Box 3. Please have both the Box and you ticket/pass/wristband in clear view.(If you can’t do any of the above, email Jeremy on Jeremy@AllTheAnime.com so we can discuss.)

VERY IMPORTANT – Deadline to apply for Kill la Kill Box 3 MCM London replacements is 9am on Monday 8th June.

In terms of when replacements will be fulfilled, we are endeavouring to get them to all applicants as soon as possible, but we are aiming for it to be before the general release of the title.

Needless to say, both the delay and need to replace defective copies from London Comic Con are yet another disappointing issue to strike the distributor which adds to a list of around half a dozen recall programmes required to fix various issues, albeit one that's being resolved in relatively short order on this occasion. Perhaps its time for a whip-round so that we can send the packaging producers for this particular release a tape measure?...
