There was plenty of news flying around at San Diego Comic Con this weekend, and of course it goes without saying that some of the major manga publishers were there with new licenses to unveil. Thus, let's take a quick look over what they had to show off.
Let's kick things off with Udon Entertainment, who revealed that they have picked up the manga adaptation of Trigger's hit anime series Kill la Kill, with a release currently planned for some point in 2015.
Also being published by the company starting this December is the Katamari web comic which was published online under Bandai Namco's ShiftyLook banner, as well as three additions to the company's classic manga line-up in the form of Charles Dickens' Great Expectations, Jane Austen's Emma and Nathaniel Hawthorne's Scarlet Letter.
Finally, Udon also unveiled a whole host of new art books, including two collections of drawings from Osamu Tezuka, video game art books for Phoenix Wright, Professor Layton and Record of Agarest War, and other offerings including Yu-Gi-Oh, mecha art book Border Break Artworks 2006-2012 and Tony Taka's Shining Blade & Ark. Plans are also afoot for a Robotech art book, which is currently a work in progress.
Also at the show with some big new licenses were Kodansha Comics USA, who confirmed that they will be releasing romantic comedy Yamada-kun and the Seven Witches (which is also being published digitally on Crunchyroll), as well as shoujo manga Let's Dance a Waltz at an unspecified future date.
Will you be looking forward to any of these releases? Let us know in the comments!
