Kodansha Comics debut three new titles for 2017

Written by A. H. on 26 Jan 2017

After the recent blow-out of new manga license announcements elsewhere, we almost let a trio of new titles from publisher Kodansha Comics slip under our radar - but fear not, we've spotted them before it's too late.

Of particular interest is that all three of these titles are making their debut in digital form as part of an aggressive digital ramp-up by the publisher for 2017, with the three series coming to Amazon's Kindle and ComiXology services.

The three titles enjoying this treatment are as follows:

To Your Eternity - Following the critically acclaimed A Silent Voice—which was nominated for an Eisner and named one of 2016’s “Great Graphic Novels for Teens” by the American Library Association—Oima goes in a completely new direction with this compelling tale of an abandoned native boy journeying alone in the frozen north with only a mysterious wolf for a companion.

This series is currently being released  on a chapter-by-chapter basis, with a new chapter released each Tuesday. The first ten chapters of the series are currently available at a cost of 0.69p per chapter.

Wave, Listen to Me! - Something of a departure for the action-oriented Hiroki Samura (of Blade of the Immortal fame), Wave turns its attention to modern life in the big city, as a despondent, hard-drinkin' young woman inadvertently finds herself the host of a hit talk-radio show.

Volume one of the series is available to purchase right now.

Deathtopia - The latest gonzo thriller from Cage of Eden’s Yoshinobu Yamada, about a young man who gains supernatural powers from an accident but then finds himself embroiled with a serial killer with a disturbing fondness for eyeballs and a band of intriguing beauties in hot pursuit.

Again, volume one of the series is available for digital purchase right now.

For more details on all three of these series and previews of their opening chapters, head on over to the Kodansha Comics web site.
