If you though festival announcements were over - think again! The London Korean Film Festival returns this November bringing some of the best of recent and classic Korean movies to screens across Central London and beyond! Running from 2nd to 14th November, the festival is once again packed with the latest and greatest in Korean cinema.
The festival will open with the second highest grossing movie in Korean cinema hisory - Ode to my Father. Directed by Youn Je-kyoon and starring Hwang Jung-min the film explores the story of a young boy who vows to take care of his family in place of his missing father during the Korean War.
Closing the festival, Zhang Lu's Love And.. is a comedy representing diversity in modern Korean cinema starring Park Hae-il, Moon So-ri, and Ahn Sung-ki.
There will also be a special focus on the career of actor Hwang Jung-min who is also expected to attend the festival which will be screening Waikiki Brothers, A Good Lawyer's Wife, and Veteran as well as the Opening Night Gala, Ode to My Father.
A special strand will also be devoted to classic Korean cinema with a special segment focusing on Chung Chang-hwa who is also scheduled to make an appearance at the festival alongside screenings of his films A Bonanza and Sunset on the Sarbin River.
In the "Hits of 2014-15" strand you'll find some of the biggest commercial hits of recent times including The Classified File, The Shameless and Twenty in addition to six films from the 2014 Busan Film Festival in a separate strand including End of Winter and Social Phobia.
That's not all, this year the festival will also include a documentary strand for the very first time! Four documentaries will be screening including City in the Water and The Island of Shadows.
There will also be a chance to see a few more recent classics in a tribute to the 20th anniversary of Korea's largest distribution company CJ Entertainment including the new black and white version of Bong Joon-ho's Mother, Miss Granny and Masquerade.
The festival runs from 2nd - 14th November 2015 at venues across Central London and Kingston Odeon. Tickets are not yet on sale but are expected to be available through their respective websites.
