Manga Entertainment to release GitS: Solid State Society on Blu-Ray next May

Having hoped to release it some time ago only for it never to emerge, it has now finally be confirmed that the feature-length Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex movie, Solid State Society, will be receiving a Blu-Ray release in the UK next year.

In an announcement made via Twitter, distributor Manga Entertainment (who have previously released the film on DVD) confirmed that this Blu-Ray edition is now slated for a May 2012 release, with more details to follow. The movie was originally broadcast in High Definition for its Japanese TV premiere, and has also recently enjoyed a 3D outing in its native country.
