Muv-Luv visual novel English localisation Kickstarter launches

Written by A. H. on 24 Sep 2015

Recent years have seen a very clear growth in both the appetite and market for visual novels in the west, and as a result we've seen some notable official releases that would previously have been deemed impossible, from Steins;Gate through to Clannad and beyond.

Today sees another big-name visual novel series seek to make it officially to the English speaking world, and it's doing so via a Kickstarter campaign launched by publisher Degica.

The aim of the project? To bring the Muv-Luv visual novels to the west in English. To do this, a goal has been set of US $250,000, which will allow for both Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative to be released on the PC via Steam and other platforms.

Beyond this, stretch goals have been set for Android and PS Vita ports (at $500,000), and for the translation of additional side story games (at $750,000) - at the time of writing the project has already raised close to $140,000, making the prospect of it hitting its initial goal all but an inevitability.

The Kickstarter campaign is set to run until November 3rd, and you can find all of the information about the project and its reward tiers on the relevant Kickstarter page.
