Black Lagoon DVD and .Hack//Quantum

New Releases (09/07/2012)

It's Black Monday!  Or rather, it's Black Lagoon Monday for our usual new release round-up.

Although we're going to have to wait a few more weeks to enjoy the first and second series on Blu-Ray, those not looking for a High Definition fix can now pick up the six-disc Black Lagoon - Complete Barrage collection on DVD from Kaze UK, distributed by Manga Entertainment.  We'll be keeping our (gun)powder dry in review terms for the Blu-Ray release, but you can find reviews of the show's original DVD release in our anime review archive.

Of course, the originator of the previous release was MVM Entertainment, who have other fish to try this Monday - namely the .HACK//Quantum OVA on DVD.  Whether you're a fan of the .HACK franchise or not, check out our review of the disc right here.

Things are relatively quiet on the manga release front this week - Vertical bring us volume four of The Drops of God; Dark Horse Comics provide a third volume of Gate 7; Kodansha Comics continue with their releases of Fairy Tail and debut new series Flowers of Evil; Del Ray keep trucking with Negima!; and Viz Media give us more Afterschool Charisma and Cross Game.

Looking forward to next week, we have the second season of Black Butler and the third volume of Fairy Tail to look forward to, the latter of which we've just reviewed on these hallowed pages.  Until then, take care!
