New Releases (11/06/2012)

Whether or not you're ready for England's opening gambit in Euro 2012, are you ready for some new anime releases this Monday?

I hope so, because there are a couple of exciting offerings hitting store shelves today.  We start with MVM Entertainment, whose mecha series Broken Blade arrives on both DVD and Blu-Ray today.  Not sure what to make of the show?  Check out our review right here.

Also arriving today from Kaze and Manga Entertainment is Roujin Z, Katsuhiro Otomo's film which also hits the UK on DVD and Blu-Ray to reach a new generation of fans for the first time since its UK VHS release.  Our thoughts on the movie can be enjoyed over here.

Today is also the start of a massive week for new manga releases - while our own personal highlight is possibly volume four of A Certain Scientific Railgun (which we reviewed here), the week also brings us new volumes of 20th Century Boys, Bokurano, House of Five Leaves and Jormungand from Viz Media; more of Air Gear, Gon, Sugo Chara Chan, GTO: The Early Years from Kodansha Comics USA alongside the introduction of volume one of Attack on Titan; new volumes of Drops of God and Twin Spica from Vertical; and last but definitely not least the third volume of the wonderful Wandering Son from Fantagraphics.

Looking forward to next week, we're more than ready for the releases of Spice and Wolf's first season and Hetalia: Axis Powers movie Paint it, White (expect reviews of both of these on UK Anime this week!), while there's another boadload of manga headed our away alongside the latest Haruhi Suzumiya novel from Yen Press.  There'll be no excuse for boredom this summer!
