New Releases - 27th June 2016

Written by A. H. on 27 Jun 2016

Good morning everyone. A new week has begun, so let's try to put the events of recent days behind us and unite behind the one thing that really matters - new anime releases! Thankfully, we have plenty to take our mind off current events, so let's crack on with it.

We start out with Anime Limited, who have a couple of major new releases today. First up is Sword Art Online II - Part 4, which arrives in DVD/Blu-ray Collector's Edition and DVD Standard Edition today. Our review of this final volume has just gone live on the site, and you can read it over here.

Today's other new arrival from the distributor is Aldnoah Zero Season 1, which emerges in Blu-ray Collector's Edition and DVD Standard Edition form. Check out our review of the series right here.

Finally, today also sees Anime Limited release Kill la Kill - Part 3 in DVD and Blu-ray Standard Editions; you can read our review of its previous Collector's Edition SKU on this page.

Our other big new release this week comes from Manga Animatsu, as Parasyte -the maxim- Collection 1 lands on Earth in DVD and Blu-ray Standard Editions and Collector's Edition DVD/Blu-ray. Our review of this release is on its way, but for now you can check out the Collector's Edition in video form right here on the site.

Also coming from the Manga Entertainment stable on DVD and Blu-ray is the Attack on Titan Complete Series 1 Collection, complete with reauthored extras in HD for its Blu-ray release (and, we hope, fixed chapter markers). You can read our reviews of the original two-part release of the series here and here.

Finally, we have MVM Entertainment, who revist the wonderful Michiko & Hatchin as a Complete Series Collection on DVD. Read our reviews of part one and part two from its previous release to see why we like it so.

Things are much quieter in the world of manga, although when there's a new volume of A Certain Scientific Railgun on the way what more do you need? A volume of Magika Swordsman and Summoner perhaps, as that's the week's only other new release.

Next week sees the second volume of Haikyu land, alongside a Standard Edition for Terror in Resonance. Yona of the Dawn is also scheduled as the first UK release under Funimation's label, but we fully expect that to slip in the schedule at this point. Until then, take care!
