No western release for Dead or Alive Xtreme 3

In spite of being a regular visitor to western shores (and beaches), it seems that Dead or Alive Xtreme 3 will be seeing neither a European nor American regional release.

In a direct reply to the question "Any words of bringing the upcoming Xtreme 3 game to US and EU regions or no?" on Facebook (a thread which has now been removed, incidentally), Team Ninja's community manager officially responded with:

"We do not bring DOAX3 to the west and won't have any plan change in the future. Thank you for asking" followed by "Do you know many issues happening in video game industry with regard to how to treat female in video game industry? We do not want to talk those things here. But certainly we have gone through in last year or two to come to our decision. Thank you."

Although there doesn't seem to be any evidence of direct campaigning online to prevent the game's sale or localisation outside of Japan, it appears that the current industry climate is - notwithstanding sales and localisation costs - at least partially responsible for the decision, with Koei Tecmo Europe backing up the quote with their own thoughts on social media, stating "Kudos for being honest. But if you really want it, you can import EN ver."

Import it you can indeed, as the game will still be available in English and non-region-locked from importers such as Play Asia and others, offering a simple route for those who still want to purchase the game.
