Sentai Filmworks announce more North American anime licenses

Even after dumping a huge number of license announcements on us over the first half of the Los Angeles Anime Expo weekend, North American distributor Sentai Filmworks were far from done with showering us with new licenses as the past couple of days have seen yet more shows snapped up by this hungry company.

For starters, the firm has nabbed a number of additional new shows from the summer anime season, all of which are currently streaming to the UK via Crunchyroll - those series being So I Can't Play H!, Jinrui wa Suita Shimashita, Tari Tari and Kokoro Connect.  We'll be giving all of these series our usual streaming coverage over the coming weeks!

Another high-profile license of a currently streaming series is Space Brothers, the story of two brothers in their quest to become astronauts.  There are no firm release plans at this point, but the company holds rights for both a digital and physical release of the show, the first few episodes we've reviewed over here.

Away from streaming fare, the company has snapped up the rights to both seasons of Qwaser of Stigmata, the bizarre fan service show which will now be enjoying a North American, subtitle-only DVD release later this year.

More exciting is the news that rock parody series Detroit Metal City will be getting a long overdue English language release in its anime form, with Sentai Filmworks planning a subtitle-only DVD release for the show.

Last but possibly not least is the charming Someday's Dreamers II: Sora, aka Mahou Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: Natsu no Sora in Japanese; the everyday story of a world where the use of magic is commonplace.

So there you have it, some more additions to a long, long list of new US licenses from Sentai Filmworks.  Would you like to see any of these receive a UK release?  Let us know your thoughts!
