Seven Seas acquire Love in Hell: Death Life and My Pathetic Vampire Life

Written by A. H. on 02 Dec 2015

As promised, Seven Seas Entertainment continue to dominate our current focus in the realm of manga by rolling out new title acquisitions aplenty, and yesterday saw them lift the lid on another two series for their 2016 release slate.

The two series in question are Love in Hell spin-off Death Life (which apparently is accessible even to those who haven't read the original series) and vampire comedy series My Pathetic Vampire Life, the first volumes of which are scheduled to be released on July 19th and October 4th 2016 respectively in the US.

To find out more about these acquisitions, check out the press releases below:

Seven Seas Returns to Hell with License of Love in Hell: Death Life

Seven Seas Entertainment is pleased to announce their acquisition of Reiji Suzumaru's Love in Hell: Death Life—a devilishly funny companion series and sequel to Love in Hell. Featuring a new hapless hero and a whole new cast of characters, alongside familiar faces from the previous storyline, Love in Hell: Death Life may be read and enjoyed independently of the first series.

Utsunomiya Sousuke is dead. But his new life is about to begin...in Hell! Upon awakening in the Afterlife, Sousuke meets his painfully sexy devil guide Sanagi, who may be short of stature, but packs an all-powerful punch. Like Rintaro before him, can the hopelessly irreverent Sousuke repent from his sins, or is he fated to be forever tortured and teased by a gorgeous demonic temptress?

"Love in Hell is certainly one of our more unique titles and has earned itself a dedicated fanbase," said Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis. "We’re thrilled that this hilarious series is now continuing with an all-new storyline."

Seven Seas will published Love in Hell: Death Life for the first time in print in North America as single volumes. Each book will contain at least two full-color inserts. Volume one of Love in Hell: Death Life will be released on July 19, 2016 for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.

Seven Seas Goes Back to Class with License of My Pathetic Vampire Life

Seven Seas Entertainment is excited to announce their acquisition of Rose Ishikawa's vampire comedy, My Pathetic Vampire Life--an all-new supernatural comedy manga series about a vampire stuck in high school for all eternity!

Koide was turned into a vampire at the age of sixteen—one hundred and thirty-three years ago. Now, poor Koide is trapped in an eternal loop of the same old homework, the same boring lectures and meaningless tests, and an ever-unquenchable thirst for blood. Koide has repeated his uneventful sophomore year of high school one hundred and thirty-three times, and now, in his one hundred and thirty fourth year, he doesn’t expect things to change—and is frankly too bored to care.

But his classmates this year seem a little different than before. They’re thrilled to have a vampire in their midst, and are eager to do whatever they can to help. Will "134" be Koide’s lucky number or is that just wishful thinking?

"Some might say that the time of vampires has come and gone, but in this case the protagonist of the story itself couldn't agree more!" said Seven Seas publisher Jason DeAngelis. "Stories have joked about teenage-born vampires being trapped going to school forever, and this series follows up on that idea to hilarious and sympathetic effect."

Seven Seas will publish My Pathetic Vampire Life for the first time in print in North America as single volumes. Each book will contain at least two full-color pages. Volume one of My Pathetic Vampire Life will be released on October 4, 2016 for $12.99 USA / $14.99 CAN.
