We seem to be moving into the midst of another wave of anime properties having their rights snapped up with a view to a live-action HOllywood film, but yesterday saw a particularly surprising announcement from New York Comic Con.

The news came via Sunrise's panel at the event, where they revealed that Imagine Entertainment have signed up to produce a live-action Hollywood film based on their original property Tiger & Bunny. Ron Howard has been named as the producer of the film, which is still seeking a director and scriptwriter at present, and you can find more details on the deal at the Variety web site.

Meanwhile, Sunrise also had much to announce regarding the Mobile Suiut Gundam franchise, with news that the company will be hiring Bang Zoom Entertainment to dub the currently airing Mobile Suit Gundam: Iron-Blooded Orphans in early 2016.

Also confirmed are plans to release both seaons of Gundam Build Fighters on home video, as well as re-releasing the original Mobile Suit Gundam film trilogy. All of these releases are slated for 2016, with Reconguista in G also confirmed for a spring 2016 release.
