While the UK is indulging in the MCM Midlands Comic Con today, meanwhile in the US the Katsucon convention is in full swing in Maryland over this weekend, bringing with it some notable announcements.
The announcements in question come from Vertical Inc, who had some major new acquistions to show off at their panel during the event.
Topping the bill by far is the news that the company will be following on from the succes of their release of Kizumonogatari by delving further into the world of Nisio Isin's light novel series and releasing Bakemonogatari in an English translated form across three volumes. The first volume of the series is currently expected to arrive in December 2016, with subsequent volumes expected in January and Febriary of 2017.
There was also plenty of news to be unveiled from the company's Vertical Comics manga imprint to, foremost amongst them an announcement that Tsutomu Nihei's Blame! manga will be getting an English release in the same six-volume "master's edition" of the series made available in Japan last year.
Other announcements from the panel consist of Junji Ito's single volume supernatural horror series Dissolving Classroom, and Ryo Yasohachi's on-going supernatiral action manga Immortal Hounds, the latter of which is currently slated for a July 2016 release.
