Voltron Legendary Defender Season 2 comes to Netflix from January 20th 2017

Following the success of its first season (and the cliffhanger it was left on), it seemed like only a matter of time before DreamWorks Animation's reimagining of the Voltron franchise would return to Netflix, and an announcement at last weekend's New York Comic Con has now revealed further details about its second season.

Specifically, Voltron Legendary Defender Season 2 will arrive on Netflix next year, running for a further thirteen episodes and arriving on January 20th 2017. Here are some more details from the accompanying press release:

Friday, October 7, 2016 - Following the first season cliffhanger, Season 2 of DreamWorks Voltron Legendary Defendersees the paladins scattered throughout the universe in wake of a tough battle with Zarkon, Haggar and the Galra Empire. The team will face new challenges as they bring mighty Voltron back together and plot to take down Zarkon once and for all when Season 2 premieres on Netflix January 20, 2017.

At New York Comic Con, fans were treated to a sneak peek of Season 2 when the cast and crew screened a full episode and answered fan questions on  the Main Stage at Javits Center. Voice actors Jeremy Shada (Lance) and Bex Taylor-Klaus  (Pidge)  joined executive producer Joaquim Dos Santos, co-executive producer Lauren Montgomery and story editor Tim Hedrick to tease what's in store for Team Voltron.

Season 2 will have 13 episodes.
