Manga publisher Yen Press continues to be busy in the world of light novels alongside their more traditional manga business, and yesterday brought us a number of announcements from both sides of their business.
The biggest new acquisition unveiled yesterday was The Asterisk War, with this series original light novels and manga adaptation snapped up for an English language release while its anime adaptation is still streaming via Crunchyroll. The series - set in a post-apocalyptic world where humanity has acquired new, untapped potential known as "Genestella" - are both due to debut in English in the summer of 2016.
Meanwhile, the publisher's existing releases of light novel series Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? will now be supplemented by its spin-off set of light novels, Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon? Sword Oratoria. This side story, written by the original author, concentrates on character Aiz Wallenstein. This series is scheduled for release sometime in 2016.
Finally, we have Re:Zero, another fantasy series that has been snapped up for an English language release in both its original light novel and adapted manga forms, with Yen Press planning to release the first volumes of both in the summer of 2016.
